Chickadee in the Snow #1
I love sumi paintings. In sumi, every brushstroke counts. I tried to mimic the spirit of sumi brushwork in a series of simple watercolors featuring things from my garden. This is a view just outside my studio window. There is a bird feeder nearby. I'm visited all day long by lovely cheerful chickadees. This little chickadee is particularly cheeky as he looks at you and tilts his tail.
